Vietnam Adoption
Children's Hope International began working in Vietnam in 1998.
We have been doing humanitarian aid there ever since and did not stop
our humanitarian aid support during the 3 year moratorium. From 2003 to
2006, adoptions in Vietnam closed to US families and the entire adoption
system in Vietnam was restructured. In June 2005, the US and Vietnam
signed the memorandum of agreement to allow adoptions to resume with US
families. Vietnam now requires that all agencies be licensed. CHI was
licensed on January 25, 2006 and we completed 60 adoptions the first
year it opened.
Ethiopia Adoption
Children's Hope International is now licensed to
provide placement for orphans from Ethiopia. Applications are being
received. Children waiting for placement are male and female,
infant to 15 years
old, healthy as well as special
needs. Single birth and sibling groups
are available. Many children have
resided in a local orphanage, community care or in the hospital of birth
prior to being matched with a family. The children are tested for HIV,
Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis and Venereal Disease prior to being
placed.
